This mosaic bird has been made using gorgeous shades of green and blue. The wing is cut from a lovely piece of stained glass with swirls of both colours. The outer edge is a dark blue reflecting many colours with its iridescent sheen. The stained glass continues into the tail which is dotted with little Millefiori. Hammered copper wire make up the head feathers. The waxed cotton cord can alter the length for hanging.

This mosaic has been made on a base that is weatherproof and the tiles are frost resistant. It will survive in mild climates outdoors. Hard frost and freezing weather may take their toll on a mosaic art piece over time. Once the frost starts, I put mine indoors or in the shed. Then in Spring, I celebrate with an 'unveiling' of my work - it's always exciting to get them out again!
